Students thinking about Physical Therapy

If you are looking for a fast track to become a Physical Therapist you are in luck! Some college programs offer a Freshman Entry Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Most of these programs are an accelerated program offering a 3+3 programs that you may want to consider applying for. You read more about it HERE. Typically, these programs can save you a year, since most undergrad programs are 4 years, then the 3 years for the Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) 

If you have done your prior research, and know that Physical Therapy is the medical profession you want to get into, then this program is something to consider. Like most accelerated programs, if you are accepted than decide that it is not for you, you can still finish your undergraduate studies without finishing your doctorate.

My route – On How Long Does It Take To Become a Physical Therapist  – 36 months

I finished my undergraduate then applied to a DPT program. For some, you may want to consider a Gap year in which you could do various volunteer experiences or gain clinical experience.  For me, it took me 36 months to become a physical therapist. In total , it took around 8 Years to become (Including under grad)

The process is long but in the end it is worth it. (Especially as a Traveling Physical Therapist)

It’s never to late to become a physical therapist! If you are thinking about a career change, the best time to start is NOW! If you are called to help people and want to service your community and enjoy the work that you do, you have to put the time in. There ARE NO SHORTCUTS!!!!!! Don’t let your age be a limiting believe and pursue your dream today!
